Madison Update – 20 February
Commercial in confidence
Today I’ve had conversations with several of you about what’s going on in our business, how people are feeling and what’s going to happen. Appreciating we’ve not been able to give you certainty at this point, I am grateful to know the daily email updates help a little with some of your concerns. Reflecting on today’s conversations, I’d like to know the questions on your mind and what you’re worried about. I’m going to host a teleconference on Monday and will address the questions in this forum (unless you have a question you would like to keep private). In the meantime, here’s what happened today. Jaime and I have reviewed the information sheet that will be sent to those who have expressed interest in acquiring Madison. A high-level information sheet will be distributed to these groups either tomorrow or Monday.
We’ve had many responses (circa 20) ranging from traditional AFSLs, to international advice businesses. As soon as they sign confidentiality agreements, I will provide details of these groups. I won’t be able to provide actual names, I will, however, group them into types of businesses. Our priority remains sourcing a business who will allow Madison to continue with minimal disruption (this will be possible with the right purchaser), in a safe, well-governed and well-capitalised environment. We have ruled out businesses that lack transparency, do not have a clear strategy for advice and/or can’t demonstrate the right values and leadership our profession and community needs to succeed.
Early next week, we will have a timeline of the sale process which will be shared with you. Conscious of how you’re feeling, our aim is to move quickly, and carefully through the sale and give you as much information as possible to support the transition. In the meantime, please send your questions, call us or let us know what you need as we progress.
Please feel free to reach out to any of us;
Jaime 0439 079 786
Kerry 0402 145 480
Dave 0466 710 170
Sincerely,
Annick
