Madison Update – 2 March
- How will the process work?
- What happens if we don’t think the option is a fit for us?
- How many Expressions of Interest have we received?
- Will there be a lock-in period for advisers?
- What will the new AFSL require from practices?
- Will the Madison team stay together?
The answer to most of these questions is “it depends”. The timeline and process are set (see attached) and we are working very closely with PwC and Bob Neill to ensure we stick to the timeframes. We have started loading the required information into the data room so Bob and his team can produce a quality information memorandum (IM) for interested parties. Our aim is to have the IM ready by mid-week for distribution. We expect the due diligence process to be rigorous and the interested parties will want a significant amount of data and information. Where required, private information will be redacted prior to release. As you can appreciate, the better quality the data, the greater the likelihood for an acquirer to recognise the opportunities of investing in our community.
The goal remains the same, finding the most appropriate home for you and your business, with minimal disruption. I asked the Sydney advisers to send through their views about an ideal outcome (noting everyone has different specific needs). I would recommend you all spend some time reflecting on what’s important to you, your business and our community. Send through any suggestions and questions and we will consolidate the information into a useable format. I believe we are well placed to influence the next stage of the future of Madison and achieve a long term positive result for the majority (I say this because I can’t guarantee the decision will work for everyone). Your assistance and support in recent weeks has made and continues to make a difference.
Call/text/email your questions to any of the team.
