Madison Update – 10 March

Evening all,
Letting you know, we have received a few indicative offers for Madison. This is prior to due diligence and therefore only the starting point. I’ve had conversations with a number of you regarding the adviser panel. I will be discussing this with them tomorrow so you can commence with your request of an ‘adviser voice’ and communication. The more questions we ask, the better informed we will be and it will assist with finding the right home. I will convene a teleconference on Friday to take more questions and provide an update.
In times like this, leadership is easy to identify and often comes from places you least expect it. Working with PwC we decided it was important to decouple our Directors & Officers policy from the former parent group (all other insurance policies are held directly by Madison). In this regulatory environment and under the current circumstances, attempting this transaction is not an easy task. I’d like to personally thank Sean Bemrose of TBIB General Insurance Brokers (who also have a registered advice business with us) for assisting Jaime and Kerry to resolve this matter. When I spoke to Sean, he said “leave it with me, I will solve this problem”, and he did. When there are many moving parts happening at once, it’s a relief to know there are people to count on. This is the essence of our community.
