Madison Update – 25 March

Commercial in confidence

Thank you to everyone who attended the teleconference. Reconfirming the key messages; non-binding offers are due Friday 27 March, due diligence commences Tuesday 31 March. We expect due diligence to be comprehensive. Jaime and I will prioritise our time towards this activity. We’re hearing many client stories from you and we think it’s important to share them with our community. Here’s one from Sean McGrath;

Sean McGrath – Halcyon Wealth Advisers

I was speaking with a client last night just to see how she was doing through this time.
She responded that she had a win today. Her biggest worry was how she would pay for the rent if she lost her job or her hours were restricted.
She was encouraged to approach the owner of the unit she rented to see if there was anything that they could do. She was so happy when they agreed to reduce the rent by $200 month till July, and review it after this time.
She commented that this was Karma in action – She is always doing good things for others and now it is paying her back.
When I raised her Super and the current investment markets, she stopped me and said, I don’t want to know the balance, I trust that you will tell me what to do when the time is right.
She then asked how we were coping both with these tough phone calls at work and at home.
Every call I make now I am encouraging renters to speak with the owners and see if any reduction can be made in rent, and homeowners I am encouraging them to approach the banks and have the discussion early especially if they are heading for difficult times.
Sean also suggested we host a “virtual” Friday afternoon drinks session.  Look out for the invitation, we’d love you to join us (consuming your drink of choice) to reflect on the week that was.

The team at Collective Minds are hosting a free 90min online mindset session on 26 March at midday, “Mindset Mastery During A Pandemic – How To Be The Calm In The Chaos”. This session will provide the tools to manage difficult emotions, stay connected, keeping your mind resilient and focus on what it can control. CLICK HERE to register.

Each Wednesday at 11am join us for the weekly update about the Madison sale. Please CLICK HERE to register once for the recurring webinar.

We would love to see how you and your business are keeping your team connected. Please send through your photos and ideas to adviserservices@madisonfg.com.au
