Madison Transition Update – 26 June

Commercial in confidence

At approx 3:50pm today, Madison FG AFSL officially transitioned to a new owner!  By now you may have seen the welcome note from Rod Bristow.  His words resonate loudly with many of us, as its a cultural match of two companies who fundamentally believe that great advice changes the lives of Australians. To say it’s been a ‘road less travelled’ kind of journey is an understatement.

Who would have thought when we all came together on the Gold Coast, holding hands on a beach, dancing to dream time stories and getting to share the history of our country, that we would be here today?  To quote Marcus Aurelius “the impediment to action advances action, what stands in the way becomes the way”.  Over the last 6 months our community has faced many challenges both professionally and personally.  And yet, we’ve navigated the terrain to find a way through. If we’re ever in the trenches again, I couldn’t pick a better community to dig in with.

One of my favourite expressions is “if you want to go fast, go alone. If you want to go far, go together”. We are here because of many.  Rod, Sarah, Biju – the team at Clime who saw the potential in us and are committed to helping us bring it to life.  Bob and the Seaview team, who worked ridiculously hard to make sure we had a competitive market opportunity.  Daniel, Tim, Amy and Fleur – team PwC who (despite a scary start) did all they could to help keep our business safe in a “once in a 100 years” event, Connie, Ash, Stephen and the OneVue team who stayed true to their word to find a safe home for Madison advisers.  However, hats off to all of you and my amazing team for believing we could do this together

I hope you have a relaxing weekend knowing that our future is very bright.

Clime ASX Announcement – 26.6.20

Three-month CPD relief for advisers in recognition of COVID-19 business disruption
A welcome announcement was made by FASEA on 25 June regarding Advisers meeting CPD requirements. To assist Advisers meet their CPD requirements in the current Covid-19 impacted CPD year, FASEA has resolved to grant advisers an additional 3 months to meet their CPD requirement. This 3-month extension is a one-off recognition of the difficulties faced by advisers this year. This means that if you have not yet completed your CPD requirement for June 30, you will have until September 30 to do so. You will also be required to complete your CPD training plan of at least 40 hours of CPD across the required knowledge areas between 1 June 2020-30 June 2021 and will not be able to double count hours across the years.
