And so we close another financial year. No doubt you’re focusing on organising your clients and preparing them for tax time. I hope things are going as smoothly as possible for you.
A few of you have sat the first round of the FASEA exam and now waiting for the result. One adviser identified an interesting observation;
‘it was way too licensee focused and not authorised rep focused. This poses a few challenges along the way as there are things that we don’t really need to know because we have the licensee so I’d spend a little time on that prior to the exam next time I did it’
The Corps act, the new education standards, and the Code of Ethics are all about an adviser’s obligations when providing advice (Corps Act has been for a long time). This is the intention, because advisers are the most important part of our advice ecosystem. Historically the financial services system has taken this away from their control, hence the mess we created in the industry. When we help you get control back, we’re going to create a profession we’re all very proud of.
Our role is to curate and deliver in a very scalable way the information, education, resources and infrastructure to keep advisers current, relevant and safe. When we get this right, you’ll have more time in front of your clients, more time to develop the talent in your business and most importantly, more time for you and your family.
This is our focus and we are working closely with the Sargon Tech team to bring together systems that help increase efficiency and better compliance services. We’ll share more at the Conference.
In this edition, we have provided an update on the CommPay project, an article from James Purvis, an update on the latest FASEA developments and the registration link to the Good Governance Summit.
Happy EOFY, I hope it has been successful for you.
Regards,
Annick
