Kaplan Professional Study Period 1, 2021 enrolments now open

For those students who want to get organised and plan their FASEA Education pathway studies for 2021, Kaplan are pleased to advise enrolments are open for Study Period 1 – next year’s first intake.

It is a great way for advisers to get a fast start with their studies, especially those who haven’t sat the FASEA national exam and can enrol in FPC002B Ethics and Professionalism in Financial Advice as part of the preparation for the March exam sitting.

Advisers will be able to view their assessments 3 weeks early (instead of 2) for Study Period 1, 2021 only.  We hope this will enable students to make the most of any extra time they may have in their schedule over the end-of-year break.

Key dates for Study Period 1:

  • Enrolments open – Now
  • Early access to subject room and learning materials – 7th December 2020
  • Early access to assessments – 14th December 2020
  • Study Period commences – 4th January 2021
  • Enrolments close – 20th January 2021
  • Study period ends – 26th March 2021

 Madison price: $1600 per subject

Retail price: $2500 per subject

To access this discounted price advisers should use the Promotional Code MADFIMFP20 and Preferred Customer Code PC-RID159 when enrolling online or over the phone.

Additionally, please find attached the Licensee and Adviser Update which includes details for Study Period 1, 2021 for those studying towards the FASEA Education Standard and also addresses the ASQA changes to the National Register of Vocational Education and Training on page 5.

ASQA National Register of VET

All Registered Training Organisations  (RTOs) can no longer accept any new enrolments into the DFP, ADFP, RG146 Tier 1 Financial Planning personal advice, Superannuation personal advice and Margin Lending personal advice and the vocational education SMSF course. Advisers who already hold the ASIC RG146 Tier 1 units of competency are not affected and those currently enrolled can complete their enrolled subjects or qualifications through a teach out timeframe.

We understand the regulators expectation is that advisers will address specialist areas such as Margin Lending and SMSF as part of their studies at the higher education level to meet the FASEA Education Standard.

Additionally, Kaplan is planning to offer non-accredited specialist short courses in SMSF and Margin Lending commencing early 2021.

ASQA has also announced some new qualifications which Kaplan intends to apply to ASQA to have added to our scope of registration:

  • FNS60920 Advanced Diploma of Paraplanning
  • FNS40920 Certificate IV in Superannuation
  • FNS50720 Diploma of Superannuation.

We believe these qualifications will be an alternative to the DFP as entry level qualifications for those joining licensees in administrative and support roles. We plan to have these available in 2021.
