Madison Update – 24 March

Commercial in confidence

We have had no material changes regarding the sale since yesterday’s communication. Interested parties will have until Friday to provide their updated bids. We’re continuing to stay close to Bob and the team at PwC to ensure we remain on top of the process to find an appropriate owner for Madison.   I still have a weekly update with ASIC and they appreciate the regular contact.  They have no pressing concerns.  PwC also have regular contact with ASIC and have provided additional confirmation to the Regulator that we are meeting all our AFSL obligations (we are).  Please know, the Madison adviser reputation is highly regarded, especially the way you have held together during this process.  Our conduct as a community has been recognised by our industry peers and colleagues.  In times like this, it’s important to take a moment and celebrate the good things.

We hope you can join us tomorrow at 11am for our weekly update about the Madison sale. Please CLICK HERE to register once for the recurring webinar. Please send through any questions.

Yesterday saw the implementation of the Government’s unprecedented steps to attempt to slow the spread of Covid-19. Whilst these measures have reduced our contact with others, it is important to remember what we all need in relation to human interaction. In an article titled “The health benefits of strong relationships” by Harvard Health Publishing, studies show that social connections not only give us pleasure, they also influence our long-term health in ways every bit as powerful as adequate sleep, a good diet, and not smoking.

With this in mind, the Madison team had our first all-digital team meeting yesterday. We’ve had online meetings before but in our isolation, we’ve noticed a difference in energy when we are able to see each other’s faces, rather than just hearing voices.

We would love to see how you and your business are keeping your team connected. Please send through your photos and ideas to adviserservices@madisonfg.com.au
